Welcome to the Internet home of the Lane Amateur Hockey Association (LAHA) and the Eugene Jr. Generals! The Jr. Generals are a non-profit organization, founded in 1989, whose mission is to promote citizenship, sportsmanship, fellowship, and physical development among the youth of Eugene (OR), Springfield, and the Willamette Valley. LAHA accomplishes this by sponsoring and promoting organized ice hockey for boys and girls ranging in age from 5 to 18 years of age. LAHA does this in compliance with the rules and regulations of USA Hockey and the Oregon State Hockey Association (OSHA).

WHO CAN PLAY: Boys and Girls ages 5 to 18 are eligible to play hockey with the Jr. Generals

WHERE DO I PLAY? All activity is at the Ice Center at the Fairgrounds located at 796 West 13th Avenue in Eugene. The rink is regulation size, has locker rooms, a lobby with TV, and the Ice Mart for your snack and beverage needs.

WHAT PROGRAMS ARE AVAILABLE? Many players will enter the House program. House teams (sometimes called recreational) practice and have games at the Ice Center. Practice is local & most games are local with some travel to Portland for games. Tournament travel is determined by each individual team. Each player will also need to purcahse a game jersey for $40.00. The Travel Program is currently limited to the High School age group (15 to 18). The High School team plays games between Medford and Klamath Falls schools. Churchill High School sponsors the team through their Club Sports program. ALL high school eligible players from all schools are welcome.

WHAT ARE THE AGE GROUPS?
Mites 8 years & under (Age on / before Dec 31)
Squirts 9 to 10 years
Peewees 11 to 12 years
Bantams 13 to 14 years
Midgets 15 to 18 years

HOW OFTEN ARE WE ON THE ICE? Players have the opportunity to be on the ice two to three times per week with some of the ice times shared between teams. Check registration forms or the web site for day and time for your age group. Individual team schedules are also posted on the Eugene Jr. General's bulletin board in the ice rink lobby. Registration information is posted on Web site by mid to end of August.

WHO COACHES? LAHA has a number of volunteer coaches whom have all had USA Hockey Coaching Certification along with background screening. Many coaches played youth & college hockey and currently play as well.

WHEN DO WE START? The programs start October 5, 2009, Monday early evening. Check the web site for Registration or Pick up a Registration packet at the Ice Rink at the end of the Trophy Case.

WHAT ABOUT EQUIPMENT? LAHA has a limit number of equipment pieces to loan at a small fee. LAHA is currently working on a Hockey-In-A-Bag purchase or rental program that is in place.

OTHER OPPORTUNITIES?
Can’t skate? No Problem. The Ice Center has several Learn-To-Play (Skate) sessions that you can attend. These programs go for 8-weeks at a cost of $85. LAHA persons will visit or be involved with the sessions as well. Call the Ice Center at 682-3615 or stop by and pick up information / sign up brochure. The House program may have opportunities to create a team of selected players to travel to one to three travel games or tournaments if they choose. There are also some off ice training opportunities as well as opportunities to interact with the Eugene Generals Jr. A, Tier III Hockey team.
