Sponsorship Opportunities

Partnerships at the following levels will help the Eugene Jr. Generals accomplish:

  • Greater participation from area youth
  • Development of specialized hockey programs to meet the needs of all players

  • Purchase of player gear so that children who want to play but can't afford gear still have the opportunity to participate

How your support can make a difference...

Do you know the costs associated with running a hockey program? With playing the sport? Here is a quick breakdown so you can see a few ways for how your support will make a difference…

Scholarships

During a typical season, we are able to help an average of 8-10 families with scholarships so their players can participate. We know the need is greater than we have been able to award and each season we have more families apply for assistance. Your support can help us create opportunities for more children to play hockey.

Ice Rental

During a typical season, the average monthly cost for renting ice time for practices and games is approximately $12,000. That figure provides our players 3-4 practices per week and games on the weekends. Your support will help offset the cost of ice rental so we can direct funds toward program development so that more youth can have the opportunity to experience ice hockey.

Tournaments

Participation in tournaments is a fundamental part of player development. We encourage our players to participate in 2-3 tournaments per season. The typical entry fee for a team to attend a tournament is between $1,000-$1,500. In addition to the team’s entry fee, families pay their own travel and lodging which can easily add up to $400-$600 per event (gas, hotel and meals). This extra expense creates a significant hardship for some of our families, especially those on scholarship. Your support will help a player and his or her family attend a tournament and/or a team to travel to new tournaments, enriching their player's development.

Equipment

Hockey equipment takes a beating each season and is often in need of repair or replacement. To give you an idea, each season we typically need:

  • 3 different sizes of nets for the goals at a cost of $200-$400 per pair
  • 500 pucks at a cost of $500
  • Practice equipment and gear for drills (cones, special pucks, scrimmage vests, etc.) at a cost of $250 per age group
  • First aid kids, water bottles, dryland equipment, etc. with varying costs from $10-$50 per item
  • Goalie gear (helmet, pads, gloves, and stick for younger age groups) at a cost of $300-$700 per set

Your support will help replace and repair the equipment needed during the season, enabling us to continue providing a quality program for all participants.

Player Gear

$250 will purchase one set of loaner gear and a pair of skates, which we like to provide first-time players to borrow — at no cost — so they can make sure the sport is right for them. However, once a player wants to continue the sport, he or she will need their own set of gear, which on average costs about $600, and more if he or she is a goalie.  Your support will help us provide more sets of loaner gear and financial assistance for families to purchase player gear, so that more youth can participate.
