Hi LAHA Families,

As we get closer to the start of another season, there’s a lot happening at LAHA — and a lot for all of us to keep track of.

So, I’m trying something new this year: President’s Corner.

Once a week, I’ll send a quick update with the things you need to know — important deadlines, upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, reminders, and anything else that should be on your radar. My hope is that putting everything in one predictable place makes it a little easier to stay connected and know what’s coming up.

One quick housekeeping note: Add LAHA to your priority/safe senders list so you don’t miss these updates — especially when they include important deadlines or time-limited opportunities!

For our first edition, there are three big things I need everyone to know:

🏒 1. REGISTRATION DEADLINES ARE COMING UP!

If your player is planning to join us this season, please make sure registration is completed before your age group’s priority deadline to avoid a late fee:

12U, 14U & 18U
Register by August 16 at 11:59 p.m. to avoid a $300 late fee.

8U & 10U
Register by August 31 at 11:59 p.m. to avoid a $100 late fee.

Getting registrations in on time is also incredibly helpful as we finalize teams, coaches, ice, and all of the other pieces that have to come together before the season begins.

🏈 2. WE NEED DUCKS FOOTBALL VOLUNTEERS!

Our University of Oregon concessions fundraiser is a fantastic opportunity to raise meaningful money for our hockey program — but we need volunteers to make it work.

And an important clarification for anyone who hears “concessions” and immediately pictures themselves making nachos (or frying chicken...all of you Zach Bryan volunteers KNOW) all afternoon: we’re pouring drinks. No food service!

We have several Ducks home games coming up and still have plenty of spots to fill. If you can give us a game (or several!), we would really appreciate the help, and this is how we're going to be able to make fundraising happen.

Come spend an afternoon with your LAHA family before the season gets into full swing! Bring a dish to share and any outgrown or unused hockey gear you’d like to swap or sell.

We’ll have games, activities, prizes, and our inaugural LAHA Jello Mold Contest — because apparently this is who we are now. 😂 There will be a prize!

Please add your potluck contribution to the signup so we have an idea of what everyone is bringing (and hopefully don't end up with 37 bags of chips).

There’s a lot happening behind the scenes as we get ready for the season, and I’m really excited to get everyone back together and back on the ice. Thank you to everyone who has already registered, volunteered, offered to help, or jumped in wherever we’ve needed it. It takes a whole community to make youth hockey happen, and we appreciate you.
