Our Programs
LAHA provides competitive hockey opportunities for players who are ready to continue developing their skills and competing at the next level. Our programs emphasize quality coaching, structured practices, athletic development, teamwork, and meaningful competition.
Families whose players are brand new to hockey or are still developing foundational skating skills are encouraged to begin with The Rink Exchange Root Beer League before joining LAHA. Together, our organizations provide a clear pathway for players to continue developing and advancing their hockey journey here in Eugene.
We include a welcome letter from the association for the new season for new and returning families. Detailed information on team identity, scholarships, and a FAQ are also provided on this site.

8U Hockey
Birth Years: 2018–2019
Season:
- Session 1: October 19 – December 16 (No practice November 23–25)
- Session 2: January 4 – February 24 (No practice
January 18 and February 15)
Program highlights:
- Two practices each week
- Approximately 12 total home or away games total for the season (for sessions 1 and 2 combined)
- 1-2 jamboree/tournaments total for the season (for sessions 1 and 2 combined)
- Focus on fun, skating fundamentals, puck skills, teamwork, and confidence
Practice schedule:
- Mondays: 4:30-5:00 Dryland | 5:15-6:15 On-ice
- Wednesdays: 5:15-5:45 Dryland | 6:00-7:00 On-ice
Registration fee: $475 per session or $950 for the full season
10U Hockey
Birth Years: 2016–2017
Season: September 28 – February 24 (No practice November 23–25, December 21–30, January 19, and February 16)
Program highlights:
- Two practices each week
- Approximately 16 home or away games
- Two jamborees or tournaments
- Continued emphasis on individual skill development and team play
Practice schedule:
- Mondays: 4:30-5:00 Dryland | 5:15-6:15 On-ice
- Wednesdays: 5:15-5:45 Dryland | 6:00-7:00 On-ice
Registration fee: $1,950
12U Hockey
Birth Years: 2014–2015
Season: September 21 – March 14 (No practice November 23–26, December 21–31, January 14–18, and February 11–15)
Program highlights:
- Three practices each week
- Approximately 24 home or away league games
- Three tournaments
- Opportunity to qualify for the Oregon State Tournament (which would count as the fourth tournament)
Practice schedule:
- Mondays: 4:30–5:00 PM Dryland | 5:15–6:15 PM On-ice
- Wednesdays: 5:15–5:45 PM Dryland | 6:00–7:00 PM On-ice

14U Hockey
Birth Years: 2012–2013
Season: September 14 – March 14 (No practice November 23–26, December 21–31, January 14–18, and February 11–15)
Program highlights:
- Four practices per week
- 1 Weekly off-ice performance training through our Treeline Training partnership
- 3 on ice/dryland practices at The Rink Exchange
- Approximately 24 home or away games
- Three tournaments
- Opportunity to qualify for the Oregon State Tournament (which would count as the fourth tournament)

- Mondays: 4:30–5:00 PM Dryland | 5:15–6:15 PM On-ice
- Tuesday: 6:30-7:30 PM Off-Ice Performance Training at Treeline Training
- Wednesdays: 5:15–5:45 PM Dryland | 6:00–7:00 PM On-ice (full ice practice)
- Thursdays: 5:45–6:15 PM Dryland | 6:30–7:30 PM On-ice
Registration fee: State-Play Player $3,000 | Practice Player $2,300
16U AA Hockey
Birth Years: 2010–2011
Season: September 14 – March 14 (No practice November 23–26, December 21–31, January 14–18, and February 11–15)
Program highlights:
- Tier II AA competition
- Two team practices each week on full ice
- Weekly off-ice athletic development
- Approximately 30 home and away league games
- Four to six tournaments and Super Weekends
- Opportunity to qualify for the Oregon State Tournament
- Opportunity to qualify for the NWAHL Playoffs
- Opportunity to qualify for the USA Hockey National Championship
Practice schedule:
- Mondays: 7:00–7:30 PM Dryland | 7:45–8:45 PM On-ice (full ice practice)
- Tuesdays: Off-Ice Performance Training (Eugene - The Rink Exchange | Portland - The PDX Fieldhouse) 7:30-8:30 PM
- Thursdays: 7:00–7:30 PM Dryland | 7:45–8:45 PM On-ice (full ice practice)
Registration fee: $4,500 (Registration is closed; player evaluations were in May)
18U Hockey
Birth Years: 2008–2011, players 15-18 years old
Season: September 10 – March 14 (No practice November 23–26, December 21–31, January 14–18, and February 11–15.)
Program highlights:
- Four practices per week
- 1 Weekly off-ice performance training through our Treeline Training partnership
- 3 on ice/dryland practices at The Rink Exchange
- Approximately 24 home or away games
- Three tournaments
- Opportunity to qualify for the Oregon State Tournament (which would count as the fourth tournament)

- Tuesday: 8:00–8:30 PM Dryland | 8:45–9:45 PM On-ice (full ice practice)
- Wednesdays: 6:30-7:00 Dryland | 7:15–8:15 PM On-ice
- Thursdays: 4:30–5:00 PM Dryland | 5:15–6:15 PM On-ice
Registration fee: State-Play Player $3,200 | Practice Player $2,300
Special Hockey
Description: The Special Hockey program is open to players who are physically able to participate but are unable to play in traditional organized hockey due to a developmental disability.
Ages: 5 and older
- One practice each week
- Inclusive, supportive environment
- Focus on participation, confidence, friendships, and fun
Season
- Session 1: October 22 – December 17 (No practice November 26)
- Session 2: January 7 – February 25
Practice schedule: Thursdays: 5:30-6:30 (on the mini-sheet)
Registration fee: $100 per session or $200 for the full season
