Payment plans and scholarships


LAHA wants every qualified family to be able to play. Below are the two ways we help make registration fees manageable: Payment Plans, available to every family at registration, and Scholarships, need-based assistance for qualifying households. This page describes the process for both options.


Payment Plans


All Eugene Jr. Generals team registrations offer a payment plan — no separate application needed.


  • When you register for your player's division on the TeamSnap registration site, you'll see payment plan options during checkout. Simply select it instead of paying the full fee up front. 
  • Payment plans are typically spread over approximately 4-6 months, with each installment scaled automatically based on your division's total registration fee. 
  • Payment plans are available to every registering family, regardless of income, and can be combined with a need-based scholarship (below). 
  • If you need a different schedule or run into a payment issue mid-season, contact LAHA directly we're happy to work with you. 


Scholarships

The Lane Amateur Hockey Association (LAHA) offers a limited number of need-based scholarships to help make Eugene Jr. Generals hockey accessible to qualified families. Awards provide up to 30% off a player's registration fee, based on household income and other need factors. Scholarship funds are limited and are not guaranteed to every applicant. Priority deadline for scholarship review is September 15. 


Who Is Eligible


Your household is eligible to apply if either of the following applies:


  1. Income-based eligibility: Your household's total annual gross income is at or below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI) for Lane County, Oregon, as published annually by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), based on your household size. The current income limits are posted alongside this application.
  2. Categorical eligibility: Your household currently participates in one or more of the following programs: SNAP, Oregon Health Plan (OHP)/Medicaid, TANF, WIC, the Free or Reduced-Price School Lunch Program, or McKinney-Vento housing assistance.


If neither applies to your household, please contact the LAHA board before applying and explain your circumstances.


What You'll Need to Apply


Before starting the online application, please have the following ready:


  • Your player's name, date of birth, and the division they are registering for
  • Parent/guardian contact information
  • Your household size (total number of people living in your household) and knowledge of your income
  • A brief personal statement (300–500 words) describing your family's current circumstances and why financial assistance would make a difference this season
  • Optional: a letter of support from a coach, teacher, or community member (not required)


The application is completed online through a short Microsoft Form (at the bottom of the page). Plan for about 15–20 minutes to complete it thoughtfully.


Verification


LAHA does not require you to submit tax returns, pay stubs, or other income documentation to apply. Instead, you will self-certify — meaning you will check a box and sign your name confirming that the income and household information you provide is true and accurate. We use this approach because we want the application process itself to never be a barrier to requesting help.


However, self-certification is a privilege that depends on honesty. LAHA reserves the right to request supporting documentation (such as proof of income, proof of household size, or proof of enrollment in a qualifying assistance program) from any applicant at any time during the review process, at the board's discretion.


If documentation is requested and is not provided within the timeframe given, the scholarship application will be voided immediately, and no award will be issued.


If a scholarship has already been applied to a family's registration fee and it is later determined that the application contained false or misrepresented information, or that requested documentation was not provided, LAHA reserves the right to: void the scholarship immediately; require the family to pay the full remaining balance of the registration fee; remove the player from the program for the remainder of the season, at the board's discretion


We do not take this lightly, and in most cases a simple self-certification is all that's needed. This policy exists to protect the integrity of the program so that scholarship funds remain available for the families who need them most.


Privacy & Confidentiality


Applications are reviewed first reviewed by a small Scholarship Subcommittee. Any committee member with a personal or coaching relationship to an applicant will recuse themselves from that review. Your application information is kept confidential and is only shared with those directly involved in reviewing it and processing an award.


Timeline


  • Applications should be submitted two weeks before your division's registration deadline whenever possible.
  • Families experiencing a mid-season financial hardship (such as a job loss) may apply outside the standard window — please contact LAHA directly.
  • If your application is denied, you may request a review by the full LAHA board.
