August 21, 2026
Hi LAHA families!
We’re getting close! The rink has been busy getting everything ready to welcome our players back, and there’s a lot happening behind the scenes on the LAHA side as we prepare for the season.
๐ Schedules are Coming!
State scheduling took place this past week, and we’re now working through the results — validating games, resolving conflicts, and looking for opportunities to add additional games where we can. We’re also looking at tournament opportunities for our teams as we build out the season. We’ll share those details as plans are finalized.
We know families are anxious to get hockey onto their calendars (and figure out how it fits around everything else!), so getting schedules finalized and entered is a priority. We’ll get them out as soon as we possibly can!
๐
A Few Important Dates
August 31 at 11:59 p.m. — 8U & 10U Priority Registration Deadline
If you haven’t registered your 8U or 10U player yet, now is the time! Priority registration closes at 11:59 p.m. on August 31. Registration will still be possible after the deadline, but a $100 late fee will apply.
๐ฅ September 12 — Welcome Back Potluck & Gear Swap
Join us from 1–4 p.m. at Wayne Morse Shelter as we kick off the season together! We’ll have food, games, prizes, our gear swap, and — perhaps most importantly — the inaugural LAHA Jello Mold Contest.
Bring the family, reconnect with your hockey people, meet some new ones, and help us start the season with a fun afternoon together.
Sign up for the Welcome Back Potluck & Gear Swap
๐ September 19 — 14U & 18U Evaluation Skates
๐ October 1 — 12U Evaluation Skate
Players at 12U, 14U and 18U will participate in evaluation skates this fall. These skates give our coaches and hockey leadership an opportunity to evaluate players together and provide consistent information to help with team formation, player placement and development planning for the season. More details, including times, will be coming soon.
๐ฆ Ducks Football Fundraising — We Need You!
Our Ducks concessions partnership is one of our biggest fundraising opportunities this season, and we still need volunteers for the football games. Sign up to volunteer at Ducks football games
If you have ANY intention of volunteering at a Ducks event this season, please pay close attention to this:
All volunteers working in an OLCC capacity MUST attend one of the required UO trainings. If you do not attend one of these trainings, you cannot volunteer.
Please attend even if you do not have your OLCC permit yet. You can take care of the permit separately — but there are only three training opportunities remaining.
After you attend a training, please email me so I can update your volunteer profile in our records. If you are willing to serve as a volunteer Lead, you’ll also need to attend the Lead portion of the training.
Remaining training dates:
- Wednesday, August 26 — 7:00 p.m. OLCC | 7:30 p.m. Leads
- Saturday, August 29 — 10:00 a.m. OLCC | 10:30 a.m. Leads
- Wednesday, September 2 — 8:00 p.m. OLCC | 8:30 p.m. Leads
Location: The Club Room at Autzen Stadium. Enter through the South Gate, where someone will let you in. Go upstairs and you’ll see an elevator and escalators on your left. Take the escalators up and sign in just inside the Club Room.
If you don’t have a volunteer shirt yet, shirts will be available at the trainings.
And please — sign up for football games! This is a significant fundraising opportunity for LAHA, but we can only take advantage of it if we have the people to staff it.
๐ Jr. Generals Gear
Want some new Jr. Generals gear for the season? Our Hot-Tee gear order is open, but so far we’ve only had a handful of orders.
If you’ve been thinking about ordering, please get yours in! We need enough participation to make the order worthwhile.

Jr. Generals Youth Hockey Store.
๐ Want to Get Involved?
We have a couple of places where we’d love some additional help this season
We’re looking for a Social Media Chair to help us tell the story of LAHA, celebrate our players and teams, and keep our community connected throughout the season.
We’d also like to start building a Fundraising Committee. You don’t need fundraising experience — ideas, connections, creativity, or simply a willingness to help are all welcome.
You don’t have to serve on the Board to make a meaningful contribution to LAHA. If either of these sounds like something you’d enjoy, send me an email!
We can’t wait to have everyone back at the rink!
See you soon!
Ashlee
LAHA President
