Hockey is almost here! ๐
I'm going to skip the long introduction this week because I have a few things worth getting straight to — including one that could save you some money.
One quick note about President's Corner going forward: I'll send this every Friday as a quick place to find important updates, upcoming deadlines, and links you may need. If I've already told you about something, I'm going to try not to tell you the whole story again. I'll give you the important part and the link so you can find what you need without everyone's eyes glazing over.
๐ NEW: Refer a Player & You BOTH Get $100!
Know a kid who has been thinking about hockey? Now is a really good time to convince them.
We're launching a Jr. Generals Player Referral Incentive: Refer a new player to LAHA, and when they register, BOTH families receive a $100 registration credit. The new player just needs to identify your family as the one who referred them when they register. Once their registration is complete, we'll credit both accounts.
There's no limit. Two new players = $200 in credits. Three = $300.
So...who do you know? ๐๐
๐งค NEW: Custom Gloves & Pant Shells
16U player Harper Stiles designed custom gloves and pant shells to coordinate with our Jr. Generals uniforms, and the Stiles family is organizing the orders through Pure Hockey.
A few quick details:
- Completely optional — these are not required LAHA uniform items
- The Stiles family is organizing the buy at cost and does not profit from it
- Custom gloves are Bauer Vapor Pro-Team gloves and take approximately 12 weeks
- Deadline for both orders: September 12

๐ฆ Ducks Volunteers — This One Needs Your Attention
We still need volunteers for upcoming Ducks games, and Halloween currently has ZERO.
The biggest thing I need everyone to know right now:
If there is even a chance you might volunteer this season, you MUST attend one of the remaining trainings. Without the training, you won't be able to jump in later when we need help.
Only two trainings remain:
Saturday, August 29
10:00 a.m. — OLCC
10:30 a.m. — Leads
Wednesday, September 2
8:00 p.m. — OLCC
8:30 p.m. — Leads
We also need a trained Lead at every game, so please reach out if you're willing to fill that role.
This fundraising is worth doing — it brings real money back into the program. But we need enough people trained and willing to help for it to work.
